Facial Aesthetics

Our range of facial aesthetics treatments is undertaken by our dentist Dr Oliver Thomas. Oliver has undertaken training with the world-renowned Professor Bob Khanna, at his training institute in Reading. Professor Khanna is regarded as a leading lecturer, trainer and expert in facial aesthetics, who has trained thousands of Doctors, Dentists and Plastic Surgeons in non-surgical facial rejuvenation procedures.

The range of treatments offered at the practice includes anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers and lip fillers.

As with all non-surgical treatments, the effects of treatment will gradually wear off with time. This means that you will need top-ups to maintain smoother, plumper skin.

The first step of treatment will be a facial aesthetics consultation, where Oliver will discuss and address your needs and provide advice on your most suitable treatment options.

Anti-wrinkle injections

Wrinkles are an inevitable part of ageing and can be accelerated by exposure to the sun, excessive stress, diet, and weight loss. These wrinkles can be classified as ‘static’ or ‘dynamic’. Static wrinkles are caused by the gradual loss of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. Dynamic wrinkles are caused by repeated facial muscle movements. Our anti-wrinkle injections can help to improve both the static and dynamic lines.

An ultra-fine needle is used to precisely deliver small amounts of a purified protein. This protein prevents certain facial muscles from contracting, therefore stopping the skin from creasing. Common areas for treatment are in the upper part of the face, such as crow’s feet and forehead lines.

Treatment takes around 20 minutes and the effects will begin to show after a couple of days.

Dermal fillers

Fillers are used to enhance the appearance of the skin by smoothing lines and plumping up areas of lost elasticity. They can be used to contour lines around the nose and mouth and can also restore a more youthful look to lips that have become thinner and lost definition.

A numbing cream is applied to the skin and tiny amounts of the gel-like filler are injected with a very fine needle into the areas requiring treatment. The effects are instant and can last several months.
